Description
The bumble bee ,buzzing around frantically from flower to flower, gathers his daily nourishment. The clover supplies him with nectar for the day. For this one moment a brief second in fact, he stops and is frozen in time forever in this image.
Bombus is what this flying insect is formally called in the insect world. Originally known as a Humble Bee, he is thought to be more intelligent than any other bee. Did you know that only the female bumble bee have a stinger? This insect has an exoskelton and only queens and workers are derived from sexual relations, all drones are derived from asexual reproduction. The average life span for the queen is about a year and the others may last four to six weeks.
