SPECIAL CREDITS and FEATURES
12/11/17 Chosen “Artist Of The Week” in Pretty in Pink Boue and Purple Group for this image.
The dragonfly is both an aquatic and land creature, as larvae it lives in the water but can come on land as well. Dragonflies are very fast in flight and they can hover and fly in reverse. Little pockets in their wings help to catch air that helps them in flight, most people think the wings are flat but they are not.
Fossils indicate that at one time the dragonfly had a wingspan of 2 to 2 and a half foot. If they were still alive today we would have problems with keeping smaller animals safe as at that size they could easily dominate them. They use their legs to act as a scoop and grabber to catch their prey.
